I have aGarmin 2610 GPS with the motorcycle accessorie wiring.

After hooking it up I plug in my earphones to listen to the audio directions from the Garmin but the volume is so low i can just BARELY hear it.

Yes I have adjusted the volume on the Garmin and it is at FULL VOLUME. The unit perfectly in the car with the car accessory speaker.

I have also hooked up to my Autocom with the insolator cable and the volume is still the same VERY LOW.

I have tried several different ear phones with the same result.

Any suggestion of how to fix this?

My Ipod works great through the Autocom also.

My ultimat goal is to be able to play my IPOD and also be able to hear the audio directions through my autocom system.

Would one of those small Boosteroos (audio amplifier) work on a set up like this on the Garmin?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Roger

I had the same problem on my street pilot 3,check all the wire connexions inside the plastic connectors... :eh:

I have the 2610, but I don't remember what it is like to listen to, and I can't get to my bike untill the weekend. If you still want me to check out mine, email me on the weekend and I'll check it out. I have no Autocom, but I can take a listen anyway, if you like.

First thanks for the quick replies.

I have done some more checking. Found that the volume is fine now if I plug the Garmin into the Automcom with a cable without the insolator and plug it into the first Autocom plugin set for music if I plug it into the second plug (regardless of cable) the volume is still very low.

Would like to have the Ipod plug into the music input because it mutes the music 50% when we speak.

Thanks

Roger

After talking to Garmin and Autocom it appears that I need the Autocom Isolator cable. Will be picking one up today and will report back.

Thanks for all the help.

Tried the Autocom Insolator cable and the volume is perfect.

For those of you setting this up make sure you use only the Autocom cable part #173.
