Does your unit have lifetime maps? Do all the 660's have lifetime?

It all depends on when it was purchased. I know I do not have lifetime maps with mine but I have had it for 6 years now. The new ones now come with life time maps.

This question is somewhat off topic but relevant, so please forgive me.

If one buys a used Garmin with Lifetime Maps such as 660LM, how does the new owner update the maps. Isn't the GPS registered to the previous owners MyGarmin account? Does the previous owner need remove it from his account and the new owner then register under his own.

Last time I talked to Garmin, they could be transferred.

When you get the unit, register it. It will not let you update the maps because it is registered to the other owner.

They will email that owner. If he does not reply in three days the registration will be transferred. If the unit was sold with LM, those rights should transfer. Check that, but it's what I was told.

This is advertised as a 660 not a 660LM so I would imagine he purchased the map update seperate. Same as what I would have to do to update mine. Not sure how that works. Three bidders currently.

Sorry It is an 660LM.. It does have Life time maps... I just when to the Garmin web site and d/l'ed the app.. It found the serial number and off to the races we went... Updated maps and Garmin OS.. No problems
