Time to replace more things on my aging bike...

I'm sure this has been discussed before. I do not seem to be finding the correct terms for this part to do a proper search to find the answer that I seek.

I'm interested in removing & replacing the rubber boot that covers the area that the foot touches when pulling up on the foot shifter. I'm assuming in order to remove the old one I just cut the pup off. How does the new one go on? Will I just wet the rubber boot with hot water & work it on or do I need to remove things in order to get it into the proper position?

TIA, Heidi

(PS...smart assed answers are appreciated... but I'd appreciate some real help somewhere in this thread, though)

Just replaced mine. It's like a $3 part. Just use a razor and cut your old one off. Spray the inside of the new one with hairspray and slide it on.

Yamaha Part# 5EB-18113-00-00

I'll leave the inane comments for the usual peanut gallery.

Easy stuff... just replaced mine also. Dealer part $4 and change for it.

I changed mine out because I could live with a dirty one, but not a torn one.

Partzilla has it for the low, low price of $2.57, so add it on if you have other stuff to order, or grab it at the dealer for the $3.95 list price.
