I have ordered a relay socket and wire. I am going to add the relay to the OEM harness and solder the relay socket in there instead of adding more connectors. Will work the same as the Brodie harness just less expensive. I think it was acting up on my trip to the west coast last September but it managed to wait till this year to crap out totally. I was at a crossroads the past six months on weather to spend some cash on the 04 or by a new bike. The trip to California last september basically sealed the deal  . I love the performance of the 04 and nothing else in its class really has sparked me to want to change (even the Gen II's). So I am with radiohowie as to when I would get a different sport tourer. Doesn't mean I won't get a different type of bike like a dual sport. :yahoo:

Finally received all the parts to replace the ignition switch and install a relay. Took all my locks to a lock smith and got them all keyed alike. The locksmith would rather do the other locks than the ignition switch. After all was done I went to start and what do you know the fast starter syndrome kicked in. Sputtered then died then had to do the old WFO throttle. Battery couldn't handle it so I had to use a jump box. Got her started and all is well until I went to open the gas tank. Forgot to get that lock changed. Oh well until I have an opportunity to have the gas cap rekeyed I will be carrying another key. I have been traveling to Italy and Spain this year and have been overseas for 7 weeks so far this year. Hopefully no more trips overseas for a while.
