Lisa and Tobie Stevens are in need of a replacement front wheel. Anyone have a Gen 2 wheel available? Please let me know, or PM Ironmaiden.

He hit a good sized pothole coming up the gorge this morning on Lisa's bike. He arrived here safely, but the rim took a good hit and isn't running true.

BTDT.

I couldn't find a replacement rim for less than $200 so I sent mine to get repaired.

However, the place I sent it took TWO MONTHS even though they said it would only take TWO WEEKS. That was This Guy

They did a great job and it is true again, but it took a huge chunk out of our limited riding season.

At the moment a buddy has wheel sent here.

They claim shorter turnaround and about 1/3 the price of the first place I mentioned .. if I remember, I'll post results.

What the Hell is he doing on her bike??? I have had wheels repaired in the past with good results. Don't know who in the north west would do it.

We were taking it to Travis'. I went to my family's for the weekend in the Jeep & then met Tobie at Travis' yesterday. He was doing a good deed, really.

NOT buying it! He was up to NO GOOD on YOUR FJR, I'm telling you!

Cast him out to the DOGHOUSE!

Travis,

Need to know if you're in need of a 05-07 ABS wheel, or 08-later? They are not the same wheel and not interchangeable. There's Gen-II, then there's Gen-II.5.

:)

Jeff

+1 on Will's Rim Repair. I bet he can fix it, and well!

Jeff, I think she has an '06?

Yes, it's in the profile linked in the first post. I concur an '07 ABS or earlier would work and is consistent with the FJR Compatibility Matrix.

That's right, it's an '06.

I thought there was a brake difference between 04-05 and 06-07, but I'm not sure as I'm a Gen 1 guy! Never both to remember anything you can look up, right?

If an '04 would work, there's a new one on EBay for $30 plus shipping. It's item #290412177133.

I'll keep watching e-bay for an -06 or one that fits, the 04 won't. I checked with 2 wheel repair places in Portland and Battle Ground and neither will try to repair a MC wheel. Someone from the LD Riders list found someone in Auburn, but they want $200.00 to repair. We'll baby the bike on home when Travis is done with electrical (or put it on the trailer) and deal with it from home. I have a call in to Glen at Desert Valley Power Sports and he has some places to check for salvaged bikes that may have a wheel that will work.

Thanks everyone for your help and input.

Lisa - why do you say an 04 won't work? It should. 04 and 05 should work as long as they are ABS wheels. 06-07 will of course work also.

Can you tell where is this "Compatibility Matrix" you speak of? (and yes, I did a search first)
