Hi,

Well, I've made my first venture into wrenching on the feejer -- installing the helibar risers. All OK so far, except when I took the tank off I was standing on the right side and didn't see where the rubber hose at the back of the tank (is this a breather?) came from when the tank came off. It seems like it wants to run forward but I can't see an obvious place for it to go. And I'm not sure if it needs to attach to something.

Anybody have any suggestions.

Many thanks.

Fred

The tube goes down the frame in front of where you change the air filter and down near where the swingarm attaches to the frame. You will see a metal loop on the frame for the tube to pass through.

I'd wager that v65 is correct (just because he is a MC wrenchin' badass), but it may help to post pics for reference.

Got it. Many thanks.

I assume pulling the hose out of the frame was an accident? When I remove the tank I always disconnect the hoses from the bottom of the tank and leave the hoses with the bike. I thought everyone did.

I did the same thing last time I worked on my FJR. I felt an unusual extra bit of resistance while pulling the tank off and next thing I knew when I looked down that damn hose was still attached <_< I was so anxious to get under the tank, that I knew it the second I felt that extra resistance. Oh well, got it back in place thatnks to this thread and the pic.

Gracias amigos...
