I'm just saying Yamaha is missing a market.

A lot of people would rather have it on disc than paper.

Buying a paper manual and scanning it for your own private use is not a copyright violation as far as I know.

Yamaha could charge an extra $10 and include the disc with the paper manual.

A lot of catalogs are shipped that way.

Paper is so last century! :boredom:

Any new vehicle (car, boat, bike); service manual a.s.a.p. If it saves you one trip to the dealer, you got your money back, and even if not, lots of information.

before stepping in the same do do I did!
excellent point i was about to make. it doesn't matter what yamaha may be missing or not missing, what we wish, or anything else. it is what it is. using the FJR Forum as a way to increase traffic to an illegal operation may put the owners and users of the forum at risk.

please respect the forum policies and consider the impact of violating this rule (even if you don't respect the ethics of the issue). please don't drag the forum into such actions.

in fact, i would go so far as to publicly request that those who posted about distribution of such (post #14), please police your own posts (edit) and remove the references. self policing reduces the need for moderation of threads.

and, for the record, YES i did by the legal paper copy and yes, it's been very worthwhile.

The manual for the '08 is readable/useable/understandable and I always like to have one for any of my bikes. You can get yours here a little cheaper and it's the official Yamaha one through a legal and copyright sensitive source: Clicky
I've bought my last 3 cycle manuals from them.
I just bought a Service manual for my 2004 FJR. Don't know how much I will actually use it but I figure it will help me more appreciate the mechanics of this bike .

Thanks for the advice/feedback.

Mick
