So I'm looking at my Gen I LDR seat, and my Gen III seat. Flip them over and the differences seem pretty minimal. The latch and surrounding area, and the Gen I has clips that were to grab the bottom of the tank.

But the basic shape of the seat is the same, so I got to wondering: What are the odds I could simply unstaple both and move the LDR to the newer seat pan? (I'm not convinced I couldn't just cut the front tank grabbers off the Gen I seat and run with it...)

And, I'm guessing this is true, but has anyone verified that the Gen II / Gen III seats are the same? whatever custom arrangement I do for touring, I'd want to keep a stock seat. (Hm. I'll have to go visit a friend for lunch...)

Yes gen2 and gen3 are the same. My Corbin I had my gen2 fit on perfectly.

The RDL seat has a seat spring base under the foam, you're better off sending it to them and asking them to fit it to the new seat pan.

Sure hope this to be true. Just ordered my Corbin seat, with the "nose job" to make it narrower in the front. After all I've heard about Corbins being lower AND narrower, the Corbin lady said theirs are wider than stock. Nose job is a free adjustment in production....

I can see it now. Death by "SPROING!!!!!!!"
