I see that the PN's are different but the pictures are the same from 05 to 06. If they work I have two stock 05 shocks, one with 7k and one with 15k. I don't know what the differences might be.

The 05 and 06 shocks are dimensionally the same and can be interchanged. Someone posted here that the insides of the shocks (valving, etc) is the same also. What is different is the spring rate. The shorter spring is slightly stiffer for a more firm ride in the "hard" position on the 06 and later. I had an 05 and now have an 06. I would definitely use an 06 shock on an 05 or earlier. The earlier shock could be used on the 06 and later models, but may ride a little soft on the "hard" shock position. sounds confusing, but bottom line is the 06 and later models are slightly more firmly sprung than the earlier models, in the hard or "two up" position setting. No differences otherwise.

I will have a Gen II shock available, hopefully within the next month. Waiting for my Ohlins to come in. '07 has < than 3k currently, and if I'm able to add 500 miles to that in the next month, I'll be happy (although I'd like to do more...). Send me a PM if interested and suggest purchase value.

This one just popped up on ST.n Clickie

No affiliation, I just remembered Dave was looking for a rear shock. $400 off an '08 with less than 100 miles on it.
