I am so glad Mama Yama toned down those large distracting turn signal indicators they had on my '05. They were so big and bright you couldn't help but notice them.

My '06 Gen II has indicators that make way more sense. They don't distract you at all. They can flash on my bike for hours and never disturb me one bit. That way I can watch out for hazards on the road and not have to put up with that annoying "PLEASE TURN ME OFF" light.

I do think they could have made them about half the size they are now and it would be even better. Just the other day, I did notice they were blinking for no reason at all (I sure don't remember turning them on).

Funny, but after looking at some of the '05 and older bikes at CFO, I had the exact same thought. Wonder why the hell they did that? If the bike had auto off indicators that would be one thing, but WTF?

Note to admins: Is there a "sarcasm" smiley?

Had the same "sensible" turn signal indicator problem on my '02 ZRX, until, with the help of the ZRXOA, I found out how easy it was to replace the panel lights with SuperBright LEDs.

HERE'S a link on the ZRXOA forum about replacing dim or burned-out OEMs with LEDs.

Do it...you will LOVE the results.

They put the "bike on and in neutral before cubby cover will open" engineer in charge of the turn signals.

Hmm $130.00. Not as bad as I would have thought, but....
"But?" But what? You're about to drop a wad on a fancy-schmacy GPS when a dollar paper map or free MapQuest printout will do the same thing?

You people cornfuzzle me sometimes...

TWN, I am flattered by the fact that you have been following my threads closely enough, and paying that close of attention to little old ME, to know I am looking at a GPS.

To follow your vein of thought, I will just use the good old hand signals, and when I realize my arm is going numb after I make the turn, since it will still be in the left turn or right turn possition, it will remind me that I no longer need to signal.

Nope, not following, just happened to make a post in your thread when you asked about 'em, but I do like your thinking on the hand signals, though. Only one problem... No one knows what they mean anymore.

OK, maybe I will just point the direction I plan to go, and have my Glock 36 in my hand. I think they will get the general idea that way, and they might even get the hell out of my way.

Even though I'm very mindful to turn off the signal, once in a while I'll forget, and this scares me. It only takes one time! I believe the problem is the indicators are located in a position that I don't normally look to. In addition they are not very bright, especially during daylight. Maybe a relocation with the addition of a buzzer would help. Getting old and forgetful sucks!

Really guys -- I was just wondering why they made the indicators SMALLER ????????????
I agree with you. I have an '06, and simply cannot see mine blinking in the daylight. It's a factory joke, I guess.
