Just returned from a week long tour in N Calif. great ride, great sights.

Returning from Yosemite back to the motel, I'm on a nice, somewhat twisty road, I noticed that my Cruise Control light was flickering on and off .... hadn't seen that before. Turned it off and back on and it was fine for a few minutes then flckering again. BUT, right after that the check engine warning light appeared, flickered a bit and went out only to come on and off again every few minutes. It was like that for about 15 miles, the last 5 miles or so it didn't show again. Temp was normal, no obvious signs of any issues.

Checking the manual when I got back it says that an error code would appear on the display when the check engine light appeared, never saw a code appear.

Next day was a 360 mile ride home, the entire ride was fine, no sign of the check engin light, no flickering cruise control light.. .......... an thoughts? Should I be concerned?

Thanks as always for you insight and advise.

I had the same thing happen one weekend not long after getting the bike (1000 miles in). Then ok. Went on a 4000 mile trip this summer with no issues. Last weekend did a 100 mile trip and it happened again. No error codes. Manual says it should kick one but nothing.

I had the same thing, ck engine light came on twice, just getting off the BRP and just as I pulled into the parking lot of the Maggie Vally Inn. It never came on again while at the EOM and was good all the way home. Took it to the Dealer and they found it was the O2 sensor, replaced it and it's been good.

My check engine light has come on a couple times. Once when I needed new plugs, another when I had bad gas, and once when I needed to replace my air filter. Maybe you have one of those issues...

Had the same indication. Engine check light on, cruise power light blinking. No error codes anywhere. Oxygen sensor sounds like an interesting cause, as I was stuck idling and inching along LA freeway at the time causing warm engine with fans cutting in and out. Turned off cruise power button and never saw the problem again on the same trip. Cruise functioned normally. Could not duplicate at home. Oxygen sensor intermittent fluctuations should leave some sort of an error code some where. Anybody know how to access?

We have a bunch of Hyundai's in my family. Every once in a while they'll throw a check engine light due to the gas cap not sealing correctly. It goes away after a few dozen miles.

I wonder if it could be something similar?

Thanks for the thoughts. It appears in this case it was/is an issue with the kill switch. I had wired something into that circuit and apparently it got a signal occasionally telling the computer that I had killed the bike. This was of course not the case, but the engine management system registered a brief fault and turned off the cruise and activated the blinking cruise control power light. After rewiring everything properly thru a fuse block all is well. After several hundred miles of riding, no more lights or errors.
