I have a few questions about the dash bulbs specifically.

Are the bulbs that light up the instrumentation incandescent or LED?

On a scale of 1-10, how difficult would it be to change them?

The reason I ask is, if LED, would changing them out with a color bulb be feasible, as in would functionality be retained? I would like to have a green lit dash, but a blue would look good too. Red on a '14 would be awesome, I would think. I don't have a shop manual to look up the part identification, so I'm not certain if this is even a possibility.

Any thoughts?

LED for sure, And likely soldered into the board like Gen 2. Use online fiche to confirm if you want.

Gen 1 were incandescent and replaceable.

Thanks. Where is the online fiche? Didn't know there was one online to use for reference.

It's pinned in the FAQ section. Online OEM Parks and Farkle Sources.

Last time I used it, I found the YamahSportsCenter link had Gen 3 fiche.

Gen 1 have discreet bulbs on the fiche...so replaceable. Gen 2 offer the cluster only....not replaceable....unless you're into soldering your own boards. Bet Gen 3 is the same thing.

No doubt.

Once you go to LED backlights there really is no reason to (add expense by) designing the board with removable LEDs. They will not burn out like incandescents do.

Thanks for the info. I looked at SportCenter's fiche in all 3 electrical sections and the meter section, and I didn't see anything. No biggie, it was for an asthetic purpose, not function. Oh well, it was a thought.
