The only way there is an SAE connector on any FJR is if the dealer was nice enough to install one when they assembled the bike.
The FJRs which I saw with the connector came from (or were on the floor of) 2 dealers. Mebby these were good dealers? Perhaps the FJRs were likely to be on the floor a long time and the dealers didn't want to have to pull the panels to keep charging the battery? Cheaper to install a SAE connector once than keep pulling the panels to charge the batter? And, risk breaking plastic.

This makes much more sense than the dealers did it on their good will for the customers' convenience before the customers even ask :)

Mine did not come with one.

Hmmmm. Wondered where my comment had gone. It's in the thread with the poll.

My FJ-09 came with a SAE pigtail on the battery. Pretty sure it was dealer installed- it was too untidy for a factory job. I replaced it with a Powerlet cable to use with my heated vest and battery tender.

On mine the dealer installed a CTEK proprietary connector. They offered to replace it with an SAE, but instead I bought a CTEK charger on Amazon.
