Thanks to all who make this a great forum. You all have helped me gain the confidence to work on my bike. I'm not very active on the board (second post, and counting), but I can always find the info I seek. Thanks again. Can't wait for NAFO! Rick in Vegas

Same here! On my previous (1st) bike, I didn't do any farkling but you guys have really given me confidence to try some minor stuff on my own.

I've wired my GPS direct to my battery and yesterday installed a new windshield! Sliders are next.

THANKS!

I'll throw on an additional thanks. I've gotten my TBS done, removed both wheels, lubed the drive shaft splines, connected my Zumo, located a good tank protector, gotten good reviews on replacing my stock seats, and found an alternative to the expensive Yamaha final drive oil thanks to this forum. So far I figure that you folks have saved me at least $600. Of course I'd still have tried if it wasn't for this forum...but I did that with my FZ6 and it wasn't nearly as fun. Thanks guys!

Crap, you folks have cost me a hell of a lot more than that! First it was the risers, then the windshield upgrade, then the horn, seat, sliders, and mufflers. Next it was hyperlites, seat covers, running lights, powerlet and GPS, reflectors, mirrors, fenda extenda, riding gear . . . sheesh!

My wife appreciates all your help, too.

It is all about how you word it. Women understand the concept of "saving" money by spending it on good deals. That's how I justify it at least. Wrecks are expensive so of course my wife wants me to have the best tires. She wanted a back rest so of course a new Sargent seat with removable back rest was a wonderful thing. Getting lost costs gas so the GPS was a definite savings. So far, so good. Of course I've picked up a couple new tools with this bike so that helps too. That, and I have a wonderful wife who loves motorcycles :yahoo:
