Anybody know which of the regular network ********s are showing it, and what time? Speed sucks, but they're better than the total morons at CBS/ABC/NBC.

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR MOTOs ON WITH GRAND PRIX OF GERMANY ON SUNDAY

CBS Sports broadcasts the MotoGP GRAND PRIX OF GERMANY on Sunday, July 15 (1:00-2:00 PM, ET) from Sachsenring, Germany. With the season just passed the halfway point, this will be the 10th stop on the circuit. The German MotoGP continues to be one of the most popular sporting events in Germany. Sachsenring first hosted MotoGP in 1998 and since then, many improvements have been made to the track, including a drastic layout enhancement in 2001. Thanks to a numerous mix of high and low speed turns, Sachsenring is one of the more difficult courses on the calendar, with limited overtaking possibilities. In 2002 the Mercedes Arena was added and it extended the circuit by almost half a kilometer. With premier riders such as Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Dani Pedrosa and Marco Melandri,* the race promises to be full of action. Jeff Medders and MotoGP legend Kevin Schwantz cover all the action for CBS Sports. Bryan Lilley is the coordinating producer.

CBS

*Melandri? I hope this isn't symptomatic of the level of coverage we'll be getting.... :glare:

Well they're all phucked up already. July 15th is on a Tuesday, not a Sunday.

Brilliant! Which means we could all be phucked as well....

But I'm glad C.C. opened this thread 'cause I would have not found it on Speed and then just rolled over and been bummed that I missed it.

tvguide.com indicates that the MotoGP German GP will be shown:

Sunday, July 13th at 10:00 PDT on CBS.

And THIS is another great source of info.

Why, yes it is! Thanks very much!

Sigh... so I see they brought in Kevin Schwantz so that means they'll be trying to talk over the race instead of commentating on it. It's usually an epic fail when they bring in a former racer and try to "educate the audience" - Sorry, I don't want people talking down to me about what a brake lever does, I want to see the race and hear what's happening.

For a person of very limited means, I'm happy when motorcycle racing comes to regular ( non-cable ) TV. But as a person formerly of means and involved in AHMRA racing the commentating does leave a bit to be desired. At least Kevin wont be calling the racers " drivers". The exposure may even lead to more American involvement in our beloved sport. Its just a theory.

Not I... because the network TV people are total morons. I expect crap camera work, cutaways at the wrong time, cameras showing the commentators instead of the racing, too many commercials in the wrong places, and stupid remarks by the commentators. Why should I have to put up with that?

(I'm sitting here trying to remember the last time I watched anything on network TV, and I honestly can't, other than the last MotoGP on CBS)

Couldn't wait during last year's races for CBS coverage to end. Just awful. Sure hope it improves this year but I'm not holding my breath.
