Getting new 09 in 2 days

G'Day Guys my new 2009 FJR will be ready to pick up in days

I am hoping the throttle action is smoother than the abrupt 06 throttle ,anyone know if it better

other than that the bike are probably the same , is the any other improvements

and under the heading " Throttle Abrubtness " it said up to 2005 Yes and from 2006 on No

Well I have a 2006 and if the throttle is not abrupt compared to earlier models they must of been bloody shockers

I did the G2 and Spring thing on mine for bugger all improvement

Is there any actual rider reports I could read , I have tried a search , but I guess I will know anyway in a couple of days

Well I have a 2006 and if the throttle is not abrupt compared to earlier models they must of been bloody shockers

I have the yes and no's flipped. It is a Gen 2 and not a Gen 1 issue. Fixed. Thanks for the proofreading.

I just got an 08 but owned an 07 in the past and I can say the 08 is much better. Read this summary of changes for 08. It talks specifically about improved throttle response via throttle cam profile and ecu/map changes.

To tame my 07 I had to do all of the known fixes, G2 throttle tube, Power Commander, and released the center spring. I don't think I will have to do any of those things to my 08. In 09 they also reworked the clutch for lighter touch. The clutch pull on my 08 is acceptable. Hope this helps.

I just go my used 08 last week. I've only put about 120 miles on it so far. I am digging it. The throttle action is so much better and easier to modulate. No complaints about the clutch either and it seems to shift better than my 07 did. Tomorrow will be dry around here so I will put some more miles on it. Good luck with your new 09.

I have had my new 09' for just one month and LOVE it. Certainly the best bike I have ever owned and I've had several. I haven't noticed any problem with the throttle and the bike runs beautifully. You're gonna' love it!

I did a few K's over the weekend and now I realise how bad the 06 Throttle was , it really really suxed .

Like I said the Throttle is just so smooth , the clutch is lighter , not that the 06 was a problem .

It shifts smoother I think .

Did mention how good the throttle was.

I need a new tank bag , any suggestions ,
