I had scheduled today to do a tire swap at my buddy's house and I didn't want to take the cage today just to transport tires so I strapped them on like this for the ride to work and then later to his shop. It worked like a charm, not even a wiggle at highway speeds. Did get some funny looks from drivers however.
My friend has the harbor frieght tire changer and a nifty nylon tipped tire bead stick thingy for mounting/dismounting tires. Worked great. He has a Mark Parnes? tire balancer too.
The front RS mounted up with no weights, the rear took 50g to balance. Seemed just fine on the 40 mile ride home.
