Go for 2012 blue, or wait for 2014 color?

Color was a big thing with my Harley. It was close to the fjr blue I have now. It looked really good vs the typical black version.

Buy the 13 and paint it Hi-vis yellow

"+1 Fred. I've often wondered why it's that big of a deal. Either ya want a new one or ya don't. It's just that simple.

Some folks are olfactory. Some are oral. Some are aural. And some are hued.

There are some "colors" that aren't IMHO colors. Gray, silver, brown and white for me. I can't imagine going out every day and getting on a bike or in a vehicle that I can't stand to look at. It's why I don't have white walls in my house or drive a silver truck or have a "metallic turd" brown bike.

I have a hard time judging any bike based on its color. I mean really? Do guys carry a purse and get matching shoes or what?

Everyone has a color preference and with that in mind Yamaha should use a whole spectrum of colors....they shy away from the brighter ones though.

Best color car I have ever owned is in my garage right now: Gunmetal Gray Metallic. Doesn't show dirt so you don't have to wash it as much.

Other than that, I really couldn't care less what color a bike or car is. I guess that must make me the exception that proves your rule?

You're right Fred, I shouldn't have said "everyone" I think most people do though.

Have to ask though if you had a "choice" of any color you wanted when ordering a FJR would you really say to the sales guy "surprise me I don't care"? Or would you pick a color?

BTW...Silver doesn't show the dirt much on a vehicle either.......I know cuz my Son rarely washes his car and depending on how the Sun hits it, it doesn't look very dirty!

Good point. Yes, I would pick one if I had a choice, but only if there were several colors available that were otherwise identical, which is rarely the case, right? Also, I agree that silver is another good non-color for not showing the dirt.

Sure - why not? How far wrong can you go with blue, silver or black?

They're all timeless (Yamaha) fashion colours :p

+10 -- that's kinda what I logged on to say. That and that I'd be far more interested in the Gen.III (2014) features than in settling for the Gen. II (2012) features for the sole reason of satisfying some color preference/coordination need.

But at 57.889 seconds just to load this one thread, it wasn't really worth the wait, especially to find that Fred beat me with the purse. It's getting harder and harder to put up with how slow this site is compared to every other url I load on any given day. NOTHING is even close to as bad and I've refrained for a long time from complaining, but I'm about done here if this continues.

Color of the bike would be my last concern. I just happened to luck out and got the best FJR color. It amazes me that your concern is focused more on color than the bikes attributes. I would drop my perfect blue 06 FJR for a Metallic Turd 13, because of the new features.
