Color was a big thing with my Harley. It was close to the fjr blue I have now. It looked really good vs the typical black version.
Everyone has a color preference and with that in mind Yamaha should use a whole spectrum of colors....they shy away from the brighter ones though.I have a hard time judging any bike based on its color. I mean really? Do guys carry a purse and get matching shoes or what?
It's why I don't have white walls in my house or drive a silver truck or have a "metallic turd" brown bike.

Thanks Fred...now I just need a gen 3 to go with the rattle canJoe, Here you go...
You're right Fred, I shouldn't have said "everyone" I think most people do though.Everyone has a color preference and with that in mind Yamaha should use a whole spectrum of colors....they shy away from the brighter ones though.I have a hard time judging any bike based on its color. Best color car I have ever owned is in my garage right now: Gunmetal Gray Metallic. Doesn't show dirt so you don't have to wash it as much.
Other than that, I really couldn't care less what color a bike or car is. I guess that must make me the exception that proves your rule?
Good point. Yes, I would pick one if I had a choice, but only if there were several colors available that were otherwise identical, which is rarely the case, right? Also, I agree that silver is another good non-color for not showing the dirt. You're right Fred, I shouldn't have said "everyone" I think most people do though.
Have to ask though if you had a "choice" of any color you wanted when ordering a FJR would you really say to the sales guy "surprise me I don't care"? Or would you pick a color?
BTW...Silver doesn't show the dirt much on a vehicle either.......I know cuz my Son rarely washes his car and depending on how the Sun hits it, it doesn't look very dirty!
Sure - why not? How far wrong can you go with blue, silver or black? :blink:Have to ask though if you had a "choice" of any color you wanted when ordering a FJR would you really say to the sales guy "surprise me I don't care"?
+10 -- that's kinda what I logged on to say. That and that I'd be far more interested in the Gen.III (2014) features than in settling for the Gen. II (2012) features for the sole reason of satisfying some color preference/coordination need.I have a hard time judging any bike based on its color. I mean really?
