This is a horrible disaster, as you must know by now. This is the most dramatic video of it I've seen so far. Just horrendous. I'm sure as the story continues to develop, it will only get worse. I can't add anything to what you'll see in the vid.

Not only that, but they now have 4 nuclear reactors in 2 plants going casters-up because power to the cooling pumps failed, and the backup diesel generators were destroyed by the water. They've even tried to vent one plant to relieve pressure, but the valves won't open. 4 other affected plants have been safely shut down. See https://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/03/12/second_nuke_plant_emergency/ and https://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/03/11/japanese_nuclear_emergency/

Edit: now it's 5 reactors, and pressures are "at least" 2.1x normal.

Thanks for posting the video. Saying "dramatic" is not enough.

Really hard to wrap your head around something of this magnitude.

MCN is reporting Honda's famed Tochigi R&D facility was also damaged. Link

I'm not sure we should wait for god to help Japan. While most of us cannot actually go there and lend a hand, many of us can give funds to those who do this all the time, like Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres), MercyCorps, and The Red Cross. A Huffington Post article lists some other suggestions.

I saw some of the videos earlier today and some yesterday, and I wept. As a rule I do not weep. This is one of the most frightening and heartbreaking things I've ever seen.
