I'm looking to try for a BBG on Saturday morning 6 am September 10th starting and ending at the Loves travel stop in Midlothian. Could someone be a witness for me? I have a tentative route mapped out, if anyone is interested in coming along I'd love to have the company. I chose Texas interstates because of the higher posted speed limits. This could be changed up some if someone had a different preference. TIA

Here's the Spotwalla link in case anyone wants to follow along, it is set to be active Friday at midnight:

I think I heard that on one of those tv church programs, had no idea they were quoting Grand Funk.

Craig - keep in mind your two witnesses don't need to be Iron Butt riders or LEOs or anything like that. I think I used my wife and daughter for the witnesses for my BBG.

Good ideas guys, thanks for the input.

Rich, that'd be great. I might be able to keep up on those straight roads

I'm sure your schedule tries to avoid rush hour traffic in San Antonio and Houston. Of course, "rush hour" can happen at a moment's notice in either town if there's a lane-closing crash.

Will be following your Spotwalla. Good luck, brother!

Thanks Mr Hud. We are pulling the trigger at 6 am which puts us on the Houston bypass around 9:30 am and San Antonio bypass around 12:30 pm on a Saturday. We shall see what surprises await us.

Craig and Rich,

Have a great ride and enjoy. Watch the weather and know that a planned route can be adapted on the ride as situations occur.

Just prove your corners with receipts and you will be fine… heck, I forgot who I am typing to - You guys will do fine.

Good luck! I was going for my first SS last Thursday but rain changed my plans. I live in Abilene. Please let me know if you need anything. My route is Abilene-Amarillo-outside of Tusla and then back down to Abilene.

Any chance you are going to the Big As Texas Iron Butt event at the end of the month? I'm signed up and ready!

Safe travels.

I was wanting to go to that one but an upcoming job change put the brakes to it, which is why I'm going for a BBG now since I won't see any vacation time for a while.
