This morning!

Going to take a circuitous route up through the foothills and then out into the sticks and up the road until

the snow gets in the way - if it does.

Full day, going fast.

...Sorta fast.

...Fast for me.

Okay,....at a moderately urgent pace.

Breakfast at the Brookfield's at Sunrise and Folsom @ 0800.

Then, KSU about 0845.

Ride limited to the first 12.

Looks to be a beautiful day.

Jerk!

I may see you on the road. I'll be outta here by 0900 but have a different route in mind, eventually crossing Hwy 49 3 or 4 times.

I have 28 minutes. I'll be right there

Thanks for the notice
Mary Ellen and Old Michael, You two just blasted past me in ******* Pines on your FJR's, I was at the outside table at Dunkin' Donuts having a couple of maple bars and a cup of joe! I'll catch up with you two as quick as I can, I'm guessing you are heading to Kit Carson, CA on Highway 88 on your way to Lake Tahoe. Chuy will be in your Feejer's mirrors in just a minute or two! nuff' said!

Edit: Ah Crapola! I just saw MadMike2's post and I see you are on Highway 49! It must have been puppychow and Bokerfork that Papa Chuy just saw! Hell, I'll go gamble at Zephyr Cove, Nevada instead. jes' sayin'

The Mrs. and I are leaving now for Murphys and all parts in-between ending up on Wards Ferry Rd enjoying a sack lunch along the way. Trying out our new Nikon so hopefully we'll have some decent pics to post. I'll be on the look out for a dozen hooligans with a yellow domed ring leader.

Head further north OM and there's lots of snow...you might need to pick up the pace to make the trip in one day though! :p

Looking forward to the pics and prose.

Old Mike, it was nice meeting you in Downeyville.

Hwy 49 is in fantastic shape through Sierra City. It is one of favorite rides. For those who are interested, I posted some pictures of my ride on Twitter @5lbtrout.

Likewise, amigo.

The fellow with me was Bokerfork (Mark). As you could see, my organized rides get very little participation.

Lots of snow up there, even at the lower passes, like Yuba.

Maybe this wasn't really a Norton, but the dude said he was riding commando.

Didn't get too many snapshots.

Yuba River.

When I was a kid, I used to jump off that bridge.

Just kidding.

I was never a kid.

....and I can't swim.

Lunatics in little boats.

Good day of riding. Didn't see MadMike. hahahaha.

I rafted that section where you saw the lunatics on the kayaks in the early 90's. It's one of the gnarlier stretches in California, I can tell you!

You call that a Ride Report?

Where's the Chorizo Scramble?

Where's the Chicken Fried Steak?

And do I really have to ask about the barely chewed corn?

To the eleven missing riders. Ya'll gotta start getting up earlier on the weekend. You missed one heck of a fun day.

5lb. Trout, always great to meet a man of such discerning tastes.

Thanks OM.

Mark

P.S. Patrick, you will be missed. Heal up soon

Thanks Mark. Surgeon says a month 'til the pin comes out and the cast comes off - Then I'll be ready

(for the curious, no, I didn't dump the bike - picket pounder outsmarted me).

Hope to see you in 4 weeks +/-
