My son David got the race bug about four years ago and has worked his way up in the WERA Circuit. He now has his professional license along with multiple trophies and loves the thrill of being out on the track. Through his racing he has met many great guys, some who have mentored him and helped to make him a better racer.

One of those individuals is Jeremy Toye. Through racing they have become close personal friends.

David was on Jeremy's pit crew when he raced at Laguna Seca in early July.

Jeremy has been invited to race in the Macau Grand Prix in China in a couple of weeks. David is going along to be part of the two man crew. According to David there are only two or three American Racers that have been invited to race in Macau.

I have asked him to take lots of pictures and when he returns I will see if I can post them....

Oh....To be 25, single and going to China to crew on a two man team for an International Grand Prix Motorcycle Race and have your expenses paid.... I want to be him!

Yes, let me tell you Rich, it's great. As I approach my 30th, I look back fondly and ................... :D

It sounds like David is LIVING his life, and I'm sure his folks had a great deal to do with him

developing such a healthy attitude and enthusiasm for adventure.

I hope I'll have the chance to meet him one of these days amigo.

Please give him our best.

(Hi Susan.)

I love stories like this. :clapping:

Maybe you could talk him into joining our degenerate bunch and give us some first-hand impressions and reports. Or at least a link to a blog or something would be cool...

A friend of mine raced there quite a few years back. It's a great experience. Make sure you DON'T ask him about the trip to Thailand that the 'mericans usually take when they go to Macau. Any word on the other US riders? Mark Miller? Scott Jensen? Michael Barnes?

Wow, Thats outstanding Dr Rich !!! Thanks for letting us share vicariously in your sons good fortune ! Look forward to the pics too ! Not of Walking Street mind ya, but the rest should be great !!! How good it is to be alive...old, creased, scarred and marred,( and thats jest Bustanut ) but ALIVE !!!! Thanks for sharing man !

Blessings,

Bobby

Race is tomorrow... Jeremy Toye qualified 12th on his Honda. David wrote the Scott Jensen went down but is OK. There are ten riders from the UK with several of them being podium winners at the Isle of Man TT. He says the Brits are crazy to party with.... Go figure! The boys are on mainland China today relaxing before the race. He has sent back lots of pictures which I hope to share later when I know exactly what and who they are.

Cool story Rich! Must have been quite an experience for your son. I was in that neck of the woods on a work-related trip, unfortunately one week too early :(

David is sending me a DVD of his pictures from Macau. He got to meet and party with several of the Isle of Man TT riders. He sounds like he had a great time. He said Macau was clean and very orderly but mainland China was something that he did not expect. His impressions of the mainland were that $ was king, lots of prostitutes with the nightlife and very crowded.

He forwarded these links so I could better understand the race....
