Matt, so now that you are an official darksider and all, you don't have to keep melting your heels on your exhaust pipe. Right?

Not sure if this tip comes too late, but...

your traction might improve significantly, albeit at a slight decrease in mileage, if you'd removed the sticker first.

:p

Sharp eye for details FredW, as always. Maybe Mattster has big feet?
My 16 aaa boots never get near that area.

Perhaps he is inseam challenged?
That *******! Whats my gf been doing on your bike!

Everytime I use the hwy pegs, my gf takes that oppourtunity to use the riders pegs to stretch. On the ride to CFR she found why it was so comfortable... she left half of her heels on my pipes! Much scraping with a piece of wood and easy off oven cleaner ensued.

Thats a fine look'n tire right there....... :D :D

30 to 32 pounds for me... stock rear shock set hard , rebound clicker set at 7 to 9 depending on the load and

your butt preference...

and I agree...... that sticker my change your ride characteristics.......

You are so screwed!!!! The force is to strong to resist!

Succumb young Jedi.. It's the only way.
Conveniently, I haven't any balls to fall off, so I don't have to worry about that part.

I'm tempted to run a set of PR2s and then a CT just so I have a clean comparison for how I like to ride this bike (which I'm still figuring out, I've got less than 1k on it so far -- and wow am I sad about that, I used to do that in the first week I had a bike, and it's taken me three to get this far...).

Oh, so yer like Howie and Brian then...

Well don't sweat that part, but I've heard of several members spontaneously combusting due to this.

Thankfully copious amounts of Beer have averted disaster.

The Darkside beckons .....step into the Dark..

So, pudpicker, the name Ysabel and the lovely feminine avatar wasn't a bit of a tip-off that our FNGal ain't a smelly old sheepherder like yourself?

ps: To Ysabel....if you look HALF as good as your avatar, I'm heading to Colorado to familiarize you with the FJR1300....and to give you an idea how ugly humanity can become. Welcome to the collective.

There's a picture of actual-me on my profile. But I've been using this gal as an online avatar for way too long to stop now. (And yes, I do have the rest of that carefully cropped-for-the-avatar picture.) That said, I might have a few more years than my avatar, at the very least. And my hair is currently a color that one does, in fact, find in nature.

Thank you for the welcome. I've ridden a variety of FJ bikes in the past and liked them but never quite bought one myself until a couple of weeks ago, when I finally succumbed, and like I said in my intro, I have no idea what the hell took me so long. I love this bike.

I doublechecked, and I do indeed have PR2s on the bike (I thought so, but wasn't sure) but the front is pretty well cupped. They don't look totally worn out but they're certainly not new. Clearly I need to put some more miles on the bike so I don't feel silly replacing them...

And yeah, at least sampling the dark side is awfully interesting. I certainly can ride hard sometimes but that doesn't mean I really need to. I don't really ride the FJR significantly slower than I did the 'hawk, because my Pace is plenty fast already, thanks. Sure, the 'hawk'll let me go more above that easier than the FJR, but I don't know that that's really a good thing. My reflexes aren't what they were when I was 20, and I probably shouldn't have driven that fast even when I was 20. And I like the idea of improved traction on a variety of surfaces.

(Which reminds me...of course, I know DoD Nominal, because I was there when the term was spawned, but Google has so far failed me on an actual number for FJR Nominal, and I'm curious.)

You're gonna fit right in! :p

BTW, FJR nominal is vaguely between 150 and 160, depending on weather, wind, weight and wussifiededness. :)

Aha.

So I have not yet reached FJR nominal on my new FJR, then. I'll...keep that in mind.

....... Nice pic in your profile.... you are gonna fit right in ..... and what a great pair of ..... EAR racks you got there.. do they

give you trouble when wearing a helmet....??

Welcome to our Zoo......
