Chief Mountain Port-of-Entry (the border crossing between Glacier and Waterton Parks) is a great place to cross. Particularly at that(?) time of year.

Last year I was on a ride that went from Jasper down through Waterton and GNP to Boise. I have to tell you that the road construction on the GTSR was a major PITA. Several long delays put us way behind our planned ride for the day. It was the first week of July so a busier time of year but the delays were a result of the road being closed for construction purposes. It is so narrow they have to close both directions as they work then open it when they take a break. Allow for lots of time if you really want to do the GTSR.
