I'll be riding up to Mountain Grove, MO soon.

And I'm looking for good roads for a day trip while I'm there.

Thanks.

Rode thru there last fall, head east towards Van Buren on 60, not crazy about 60, but gets you to Van Buren. Visit Big Springs just south of VB, then head back north up to VB, take state route D out north up to 21 north, to 106 West to Alley Springs. For a day ride, head back south on 19 (great riding), and stay on 19 to 160, then head back west to West Plains and back to Mountain Grove.

The Springs were really nice to visit, and impressive. Some locals can give you better and more complete info, but as long as you stay in the Ozarks, don't think you will have a bad ride.

Concur with what 'fjrb0' said.

I spent some time in Mtn. Grove many years ago -- downtown, frosted mugs, old hotel....it's all kind'a blurry.

US 160 is a really nice motorcycle ride -- in fact, it can tire you out with sweeper after sweeper.

Van Buren and Big Spring are worth a look. I also like the areas around Viburnum, Annapolis, and Sam A. Baker State Park.

The Mark Twain Natl. For. is a beautiful place.

Enjoy your ride.
