Hi all.

Can anyone recommend a good dealer in So Cal?

I heard Yamaha of Rancho Cucamunga was a decent dealer, I like the fact that they're a Yamaha ONLY dealer.....more experience working on Yamaha.

Any good stories/recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I used to got LeBard and Underwood when I lived there. Small Honda/Yamaha shop, and I always liked how they conducted business. I bought both my 04 FJR and my 05 YFZ450 there.

I used Rancho Cucamonga for last my last two valve checks and had a good experience. They gave me a good discount on the last check since they had to do the spider recal at the same time. Other then that my bike doesn't go to a dealer

I had recall work done @ Yamaha of Cucamonga a couple of years ago on my '06. Good experience, competent mechanics, and since they had the tank up for the recall work they only charged me $40 for a sync (iirc) Pretty sure they have a solid reputation with the desert dirt bike crowd as well.

****** motorsports in Torrance does decent work, mechanic is an ******* tho.all he eats is fish and chips.give them a call
No beans on toast??

Thanks for the replies guys........never heard of the Labard & Underwood dealer, sounds like a good option other than Rancho Cucamunga Yamaha.

I hear ****** MS does ***** for FJR work. After he wrenches on the bike, it always wants to be on the left side of the road and stops for numerous smokes and beers. Other than that, he does great work.

It would if it was about "Ride Planning" and/or "regional information" which I take it to mean regarding RIDES since it's in the sub forum of "FJR Rides and Gatherings"

I posted it in FJR SPECIFIC because it pertained to a dealer for my FJR but whatever, it got enough responses...................

The Best is Yamaha of Cucamonga by far. Jay Conway is co-owner with his brother Scott. Jay is a hands on owner-mechanic and is a Yamaha 5 star mechanic. Been taking my many Yamaha bikes there for 30 years. Very honest and absolutely reliable.

Wow Ryan...they charged me $135.00 for the TBS.

I know that's high because other dealers quoted me $90.00 for a synch but I like the fact that they are a Yammi ONLY dealer.....I'll work them for a better price next time.

But $95.00 charge diff for tank up or down?? They should at least hand out lube first!!!!

On a related note, anyone knows if a dealer in SoCal that can make me a new key using only the key tag number that came with the bike?

When I got the bike (used) it only came with one key and while it works I'm 75% sure it's not an original key.

Rather than make a copy of a copy of really like to get an essentially factory key using the key tag (which I do have).

I tried both Simi Valley and North Hollywood and neither can/will do. I'm willing to go pretty much anywhere in SoCal but not if it's not going to be successful.

I know its a bit of a haul, but LeBard and Underwood did exactly that for me on an old FZR 600.

Any Yamaha dealer should be able to order you a blank key whcih you can then take to any locksmith shop and they can make you a second key.

That's what I had to do with my FJR as it only came with one key.......the dealer I bought it from ordered me a blank.
