everything i have purchased from forum based parties has been outstanding. my purchases from forum members include:

a very new sergent seat, an oem rear shock from an '06 with 2000 miles (avalible for purchase), a freshly serviced wilbers, installed instead of the oem rear, the zumo and a set of scala rider teamset.

my most recent purchase, a zumo and tech mount combo from ock913, was a transaction that had several positive points.

the first was ock913, the zumo came with everything in the box, and as a bonus, a copy of the 2009 maps cd. the cd had an issue and ock913 contaced garmin and was able to score another copy for $10. i offered to pay for the cd, but was told not to worry about it. he went above and beyond IMO.

i found out later, the techmount included was an older model and when installing it i had somehow managed to strip the screw holding the stem to the bottom pivot U mounted atop the stem nut. i was able to get the stem nut off but i ended up messing the flats of the 36mm nut up :angry2:

i contacted the super nice folks at High Gear Specialties to get replacement parts. when i described what i needed for my repair, and that i wanted to get a 4" stem, i found out that the older techmount was not compatible with the newer design currently being produced. i ended up buying a completely new stem mount kit, but the fella sold it to me at replacement parts cost saving me several dollars. he didn't have to do this, but did. two thumbs up for these guys!

i hope i will never have a poor experience dealing with anyone on the forum. i knew i bought a great bike, but being apart of a great group makes the bike that much better!

Hey Bust, it is good to hear about the quality of the people on this forum. It makes me wish I had something to sell. By the way, what are you selling? Is it legal or can we not discuss it for fear of legal reprisal. Really, I am not an informant for some law enforcement group. Trust me!

No I am not badcat and bikesniffer, just bikesniffer here and yes you are confused, sometimes things do appear to be different if you do not have all the facts...he told me the guy backed out of the deal (apparently that was badcat) so he sold it to me...need anything else ?
Whoa, what's with the attitude there, bikesniffer?

I asked a perfectly legitimate question after I looked up the auction to see what public representations had been made. It appears there were none, but I can still understand you being upset if it was damaged and represented as being perfect.

So, to complete the story, did you ask him to take it back (when you contacted him after the sale and found it was not to your satisfaction)??

well a little attitude is never a bad thing

it just rubbed me the wrong way at the time and sort of implied that I wasn't forthcoming with all I knew...

However I wrote him twice that I was not a happy camper about the POS he sold me...he of course ignored my mail.

Again I called High Gear and they shipped me all sorts of stuff for free to Switzerland none the less, to restore the mount to an original, have nothing but praise for these guys

Well, got rid of some bike stuff I never used, then decided to sell hunks of wood with bikes, etc on em.

Look around there's some pics here someplace. I don't wanna "honk my own horn" ;)

:jester:

I'm with Bust here. I've bought and sold several times on this forum and every transaction has been silky smooth.

I guess I don't expect them all to be that way. The trade's not policed or monitored, the mods just give us a space to find like minded folks. The fact that most of them go so well reflects the nature of the people that hang out here.

Bought and sold several items here... ZERO problems.

I think FJR owners are a better, More trusting type.

But, With anything, Once bit, Twice shy.

OK. You really want me to be serious? Rhetorical question.

I have had excellent dealings on this Forum, and I've purchased a good chunk of stuff from people on this forum. There are a few people who I thought were the most trusting people like we were old friends from way back and they just did you a favor etc. Some I had only spoke to regarding the sale, yet they treated me like an old friend. One person even sent me my parts before I paid him. I was waiting for a final cost on shipping and he just shipped it and then told me the cost. I immediately paid him when I received the information. I thought, that's a trusting soul.

Anyway, I hope everyone has similar experiences, and treats each other with respect.

Thank you to those I have purchased things from, you've helped make this forum what it is, awesome!
