I just received good news, I"ll be receiving the insured value for my totalled FJR.

Now what?

Buy a 07 or a low mileage 04/05?

Merry Christmas.

Glad it worked out the way you wanted ! If'n it were me, yeah, I'd try a silver one & use the spare change for other things...

Or a blue one :)

I ran into a guy in the parking lot at the Long Beach show. He was selling his low mileage '05; asking price in the 8K range. For example.

You can't go wrong either way, really.

I need to track down my FJR and see what the savage dollar value would be, for a buy back.

Could still be some 06's floating around. Might run into a good deal as Highlander did with his. PM. <><

Yes an 06 would fit the bill. They have done nothing new to speak of with the 07s and you will have to wait. I bet you can find a deal on an 06 before dealer year end's inventory.

The 06 is a real improvement over previous years and is worth the price difference.

I'll take that bet. Local dealer couldn't find an 06 in all the surrounding states. DJ from your neck of the woods drove to Ohio to pick one up and I'll be getting mine tomorrow, BUT there aren't too many of them around. If you are serious give a call to Lancaster Sport Cycles. There are a few in Clearwater, Fl and a few in AZ and NV. Believe me, I looked.

champions yamaha in leesburg florida had one new 06, 2 used 05, and an 04 about 2 weeks ago

I see a canadien built harley in your future, eh. Take off.....you hosers....

+1. You might have to travel to get a good low-mileage used one and that would have to factor into the cost. If you gt a New Gen FJR, some of the farkles you have (If you harvested any) will not transfer over.

You already know what suspension upgrades you 'll want to do to an 04/05.

I'd like to have a pocket full of change and be deciding....its just a hard way to get there.

Buy a used 06. Heat issues are fixed. No reports of a tick. Replace the clutch slave with the 05 part number and the throttle tube with the g2 ergonomics tube and #400 cam. Do the +7 barbarian mod.. Puts you way ahead of the game....

Local dealer, Razee motorcycle, has an 06 AE new on the floor

I'm assuming that anyone giving dealer advice, haveing read his info in the column under his name, knows that "fjr eh" is from Vancouver, BC.
