I was coming home today and doing the normal thing getting ready to lane share in the carpool lane. For those from out of Cali, it's perfectly legal, as long as it's done safely.

At a particular Frwy, two carpool lanes (HOV, High Occupancy Vehicle) merge. Most cars kind of hug the left side leaving a nice gap for motorcycles to safely lane share on the right, until it's down to one lane. I come to the merge and the cars come to a dead stop. I'm on my FeeJ looking and maneuvering towards the right side, I glance over my shoulder (I never really solely on my mirrors) and notice a bike coming at me from the rear where I want to lane share. I weave back to the left to give him room and wait my time to merge back in. To my shock and horror the guy past me doing at least 50+ MPH. Mind you, the traffic was at a dead stop! If I had not seen him, or not turned back in, he would have collected me in a bad way. He appeared to never veer off course, or correct. He was on a bonsai straight line tunnel vision ride. I don't believe he even saw me. Just shows to go ya, some motorcyclists are total idiots and not looking for what could happen.

Was it Richard? I've seen him split at close to triple digit speeds in standstill or nearly standstill traffic.

Nope, I don't think it was Richard, I didn't see him with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. :p
Are you absolutely 100% sure Bluesy? Southern Comfort half-gallon bottles are on sale at COSTCO this weekend, so it could have been Fairlaner!
