No one here really knows me, but I have been a member for about 6 years. I don't post much, but I read almost every day. I have learned an amazing amount from reading these forums. I have also performed much of my own maintenance thanks to the information shared on this forum.

I sold my '08 FJR last week and put down a deposit on a 2014 BMW K1600GT. I have been looking at the BMW K bike since it came out, and decided that I would give it a try. I hope I enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed the FJR.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to all of you that have helped make my FJR experience a good one.

I may stop in to read once in a while, but I guess it's time to move on to a BMW forum.

Ride safe.

JMW,

Check in once in a while, if you are a regular here, you know that alot isn't for FJR only. Also , several people here have or have had BMWs also, myself included (K75RT). Good luck on the GT.

Congratulations on the new BMW. I sincerely hope it serves you well. Please remember that you do not have to ride an FJR to be a member of this forum. If nothing else the Ride Reports should still be worth reading.

FWIW, I don't actually get to "ride" an FJR very often. All I get to do is wash, wax, change oil, change filters, change spark plugs... As long as I keep Pop happy and riding, it's all good.

I agree with what's been said. If I was to ever change bikes, I would still come on here, as I've made some new friends and enjoy reading many of the posts that are written here. All the best with your new ride!

Keep in touch. Let us know how BMW North America treats you. I strongly suggest you buy an extended warranty. Repairs are very costly. I have had first hand experience. Good luck and safe riding.

Ditto

Congrats on the new ride. As others have already stated, stick around. Lots of us on here own multiple bikes and you could still benefit from the group buys. You may even find yourself able to answer someones questions based upon your past experiences.

JMW-

Don't leave for good!?

I have both the Feej and a brand new '14 K16 GT-Sport.

They both are related (ST wise) and can co-exist! I plan to ride the Yamaha to BMW events and the Beemer to Yamaha events :) (as instructed by El Senior Don Papa Pablo Chuy).

Does this mean we get to play dominos with the Beemer??

Bill- Hopefully that game has officially ended. Marty started it, then you continued it back at the lodge... bad!

Oface made right btw, Steam's bike was totally fixed back up, insurance paid for his new helmet also, but the down time.... :(

I'd hope you could come back and give some opinions about your new ride.... such a nice looking machine - want to see how it pans out for you....
