+1!If I had won the lotto, I'd get a K1600. Good luck with her!
https://www.k1600forum.com +1, Gunny; Congratulations on your new Six Banger, see you over at the K1600 Forum!JMW-Don't leave for good!?
I have both the Feej and a brand new '14 K16 GT-Sport.
They both are related (ST wise) and can co-exist! I plan to ride the Yamaha to BMW events and the Beemer to Yamaha events(as instructed by El Senior Don Papa Pablo Chuy).
Which '14 GT (color) did you get and what option packages did you shell out for? Thanks everyone. I will stick around a bit and keep you posted on the new ride.
Two bikes is not really an option for me, so I had to make a choice. As much as I loved the FJR, I wanted to try the BMW.
Should have the bike in a few weeks. Once the weather clears up, I will get her out onto the road and let you know how she compares to the FJR.
I went with the Montego Blue basically fully optioned, including the NAV V. The bike was already on the ship over here from Germany - I didn't special order it. I almost went with the GT Sport, but I wanted the full windscreen and I liked the Blue almost as much as the great Sport model color scheme.Which '14 GT (color) did you get and what option packages did you shell out for? Thanks everyone. My K16 GTS took almost 2 Months from build date to receive. I watched the whole process from Mfg' to crating (6 days) to vessel shipping (26 days, NY [bayonne NJ actually] was the last port). If your dealer is savvy to all this, he can provide you the BOL to follow, container number and ship/vessel with ports of call. It's so cool to watch the whole process with your name attached to the order! Hey, you may pay the big bucks but it's a red carpet treatment nobody else can or will provide.
Congrats and welcome aboard! ...and as Don Papa Chuy says: k1600forum.com

By the way, you are not too far from me. Last summer I organized a three day ride up through the finger lakes. You have some great riding up there.
