First off let me say I really have enjoyed all the help and support you folks have given me on this forum. Some of you I had the privilege to meet at the 2005 EOM and I can say with absolute cetainty you are good peeps. I have thoroughly enjoyed my FJR (2004) other than the timex syndrome that was fixed. It is a solid machine with alot of potential. I wasn't overly impressed with the additional features of the 2006 model and was left with a want of "more". Well the 6 speed tranny, inverted forks, radial master cylinder, wave rotor brakes and hopefully more HP and TQ are on there way in the summer of '07 but it's not in the FJR. It's in the new Connie. This is one dead sexy machine with all the latest technology and will be my next ride. The FJR is officially for sale. This isn't goodbye as I still have good friends here that I will keep in touch with. Thanks one and all! Rick

Sorry to see you go, but if you get a bike that makes you happy, well, that's what counts. Lots of folks are intrigued by the new Connie, both here & elsewhere.

Of course, you're gonna give us the skinny, good, bad, or indifferent, on the new bike after a couple of thousand miles in the saddle, right ??? Inquiring minds want to know...

You're not alone man. I too am wondering if I jumped the gun.

I've lusted after the FJR for a while and finaly pulled the trigger on an 06, 5 months ago

But that's the thing with motorcycles, cars, computers and just about everything else. Not matter what you buy, if you wait about 6-9 months something else better is right around the corner. [Damn]

We'll see, about the time the Connie is available, my dad might be ready to trade up from his BMW :D

Dude, you're selling your Feej now? The Connie isn't supposed to be out until '07 or '08? You not gonna' ride in between? The best weather in this area is now thru most of December... not counting the days in between what's considered the coldest months. You sooo funny!!!

Anyhow, it's not like I'll really miss ya'... you'll be a state/ 1.5 hour ride away.

I'm also directing some attention toward what comes about. This bike definitely turned my head! The only thing that I really don't like is the front of the side cases. This is the only bike thus far that could possibly turn my head away fr/ my FJR. And especially if it's a lot lighter.

Be sure to keep in touch punk. Missed ya' at EOM this year, but hope that you had a good trip up north. Keep me posted about your progress w/ the bike. If you get your hands on one sooner than later, please get in touch. I'd really like to see it close up.

I was wondering how long it would take Kawasaki to do that with the ZX-14. The ZX-14 looks to be 70% sport tourer already!!! But I'm happy with my 05. If I were to get another bike wanting more torque, power, inverted forks etc. It would be an R1 or GSX-R 1000. Otherwise it would be a pointless move to get another long heavy tourer, that's just a little better. Hey it is a great bike though.

I've done the same thing as 04 FJR Pilot. I have an 04 and was looking at purchasing an 06 but held off because of rumors of a replacement for the Connie. These rumors surfaced shortly after the ZX14 hit the streets. Well rumor became reality, and best of all, no PDP involved. (Are you taking note Yamaha?)

My 04 FJR, 14,000 miles is up for sale, and I have first dibs on a Concours 14 when the dealer gets it which should be in the April-June 07 time frame.

Yeah heidi it will be up for sale but I don't know if it will sell for a bit as fall is not the time to sell. I'll continue to ride her till someone wants her. I transfer out of the area next summer and don't want another vehicle to have to move. I'm hoping to go to Cape Cod, MA. Then i'll get one of them thar new Connie beauty's. :yahoo:

Apples to Apples if they didn't "detune" that motor in some horrible way you will love the Connie.

I road my friends zx-14 the other day and smooth is just a word until you experience what it can be. The fjr has nothing on the zx motor I assure you. Uncorked it is simply amazingly smooth. 90mph in 2nd gear and I had no desire to change to 3rd it was so smooth and only about 7thousand rpms.

A simply amazing machine, you will like it...
