So, I just ran a search in google for "yamaha motorcycle". I was hoping to link right to the yamaha mototcycle site since Yamaha.com is not it. And there were three drop downs related to Yamaha bikes. When I did not choose a model it brought up a few pages of Yamahas for sale. Is this a new google feature, or I have been mising it?

When I do that search, the very first hit is yamaha-motor.com, the right site. No drop downs, no "for sale" ads.

Guessing, but you might have some search hack on your IE giving you its hits over Google's. Does it act the same in Firefox?

Try this link.

EDIT: Yes, firefox acts the same.

I am very sure I do not have a hack of any kind giving my IE hits over google.
Yamaha comes up for me:

Here is a post I found on a google blog about the search I am seeing

Link

Here is another webpage I found that might be related:

Link

I have no idea why not everyone is seeing the change. I checked the wifes PC and it did NOT appear. I logged into my google account on her PC and it now shows up. Even after logging out of my google account it continues to show up.

Here is what I see during the search.

I can't remember the term, but think it could be related to something about changing your winhost....or something. Suffice it to say, something is different about your one machine...maybe set by something less than above-board activity on your computer.

I get the same result as the OP...I use FF and Swiftweasel on Ubuntu 7.10.

me thinks it just an ad. nothing to be worried about.

It does appear that google has a Google Vehicle search.

Same happens for me

Here's what I got with his link, a fancy schmancy drop down box asking if I wanna look for Yamaha Motorcycles:

In addition, the "crap" on the right are usually paid ads. If you have Google local turned on, they are typically local ads.
