Google wont work can you help?

Every time I search on google, whatever its for, it brings up the usual list of options, when I click on one of the options it takes me to other obscure search engines.

Sounds like you've been hijacked, try running anti virus and spyware sweeps. The admin types can explain it better but you've got a bug. Gay porn sites are famous for slipping those kinds of things in when you're not looking.... :huh:

Can't say I didn't expect a reply like that ho ho ho. It takes me to obscure search engines with watered down options for the original search. Don't know where it came from I have run AVG and adaware but neither picked up whatever it was.

Kept running Ad-Aware

So, you're saying running Ad Aware then spotted a problem and resolved it? If so, what did it specifically say? What was the underlying issue?

No idea, but I did nothing else and its stopped happening. I paid £15 for the upgrade and Ad Aware found more problems than it did before. I am not knowledgable enough to know what I was looking at if I did check what it had found.

The computer is fine now and seems a tad faster than it was too.

EDIT: Just looked in the scan statistics, it doesn't say what the problem was just how many infections detected.
