Spend a lot of time putting your workshop together? If you're proud of it, then show it off! My employer is looking for showcase garages/workshops/outbuildings/basements for publication in a magazine. These shops don't have to be anywhere near as grandiose as the one Georgia Roller found, just a well thought-out space, whether you use it for wrenching on bikes/cars, woodworking, metalworking, DIY, RC cars...whatever. This is one case where size doesn't matter; but how you use it does.

You can learn the details here. And if you submit your shop, send me a PM and let me know. Can't guarantee I'll get you special consideration, but it never hurts to know someone on the inside... ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about the tool issue. The "world" doesn't spend their time perusing our forum. I'm just beginning the project of converting my old shed into a shop. Much work to be done. I began last week by emptying it out and ripping down the shelving that was tacked all over the walls. Next item: a new floor as the old plywood was only 3/8 " thick (can ya believe that?

<sidetrack> Yeah, I wouldn't worry about our forum getting much traffic but...

My employer is looking for showcase garages/workshops/outbuildings/basements for publication in a magazine.
I don't know...maybe a magazine would see more traffic by the idiots that rip people off...I don't know. Not a big deal I'm sure. I guess that comment is meant in the same way that people erase their license plate number for online photos.

I know I don't have to worry, I don't have the tools that many of you do...plus, I have cats.<sidetrack over>

...BACK TO PEOPLE WITH COOL GARAGES.

Many Thanks CraigRegs, I entered yamafitter's Ontario, Canada garage into this contest. I think our Bill F. has a real winner here:

Not trying to be a prick, but is it a good idea to let the world know where some great tools are?
We don't print addresses or maps of the locations. Personally identifiable info usually runs something like "John Smith's Illinois garage is the envy of his friends." Probably not something the most paranoid among us will want to pursue, but we've yet to have a past subject call us reporting he'd been ripped off.

Although one guy did report his cats were missing. ;)

Ya know, with a bit of clean-up and some Photoshop....

If you wanted to do a publicity profile piece on FJR Bill, he's also really into ice fishing!

What's the deadline on this? I just started moving stuff in......might be done in a few months with it.....lol.
Publication is just now in the planning stages, so send photos along to the link in post #1 above when you're done. Photos of before and after are especially nice.

Seven years too late. Back when this was posted we were just moving in to the house we built. After dealing with the stuff in the house, I did finally get around to setting up my garage workshop. And after cleaning up the other day, finally got around to taking a picture:

Always good to have a target with bullseyes in the garage. Wards off evil doers. Mine's to messy right now.

Nice,

Dave

I like the targets. I have a bullet stop in my shop. Makes for great stress relief when I'm working on Carver's stuff

and indoor pistol practice in the winter.
