I was tooling along on my way to an errand at Home Depot, just 2 miles down the freeway from my place, when it happened. I was doing 70 and it went right on by like I was parked.

Disclaimer- I was in the Corolla and the Harley was in the back of a Chevy Avalanche. He must have decided to take it for a high-speed run.

BWAAAAAAAAA!

Hell my Burgman 650 is faster than 90% of the HDs out there!!! I think your Corolla would have a good chance on the avalanche. Gas mileage that is. :D

Been waiting for a HD bashing thread to post this:

Took this whilst on vacation in SD with my parents, right as Sturgis was wrapping up... Never seen so many trailers in my life.

PS I like HD just fine, almost as much as like I giving them ****.

Can't begin to tell you kids how much this thread wants me to rebuild my harley. Bad.....bad .....bad.....bad....bad.....bad.

Do it! But first, go watch "The World's Fastest Indian". It will give you inspiration, and the rest of us a break. :p

Not to defend Harley but I just got home from Bonneville last night and there was a Road glide complete with bags and fairing with one foxy lady riding it that went 154 mph. don't know what mods were done but that is fast. The FJR went 156 mph last year without bags so we better watch out. HA HA!! The rest of the meet was way fun. got to see a new world record with a two way avg. of 350.8. the top speed of the meet was 355.3 but he couldn't back it up in time.

While I don't have a Harley currently, I've surprised a few non-cruiser riders by keeping up... and passing a few... on my cruiser. It's always fun when someone comes up at the next light and wants to know what I've done to make it handle so well or some such question. I just smile and say "nothin" (tho' that's not entirely accurate - I did replace the front springs). A good rider and a decent set of balls and some cruisers can do some surprising things. But in all fairness, my Sabre's got *way* more ground clearance than other cruisers, so that helps.

In the end, Harley makes cruisers and tour bikes. They don't make sport bikes or sport tourers. I think it'd be real interesting if they decided to properly enter the sport touring market with a *good* design team with their head in the game... in the correct game. But that's not their thing and still they outsell others. They're like Howard Stern - "Sure, we don't like him. But we'd sure like to have his numbers."

How the hell did the HD fit in the bed of the Avalanche? :dntknw:
I think you just collect the parts as they fall off the bike, and eventually, it all fits!

Good one! :D

Harleys are quiet too. At least the one that belongs to the guy up the street from me is. But... that may be because most of the time to get it started, he coasts by my house trying to get up enough speed to bump start it.
