I was rear ended Tuesday 7-15 on the I-5 South bound around 1:45pm in Seattle, I was in heavy traffic Stop-N-Go and got hit in lane # 5 (far left) and was forced into #4 and was hit by another car before I went down for the count, It looks like my bike is totaled by the preliminary estimate of plastic damage, The Canyon Cage did it's job looks like the rear sub frame is out of alignment, I won't go into my injuries because I still getting treatment, the driver got hauled away in cuffs, but the owner of the car (his girlfriend) has insurance on the car I was lucky that there was a State Trooper a couple lanes over and another City police patrol car a few cars behind me and got the scene secured fast. I will be looking for another bike as soon as the insurance pays the property damage. I got a few things to take off mine.

This is my second time being hit from behind, last time is was Aug 7th 2008, on the same Freeway, less than a 1 mile away. I was riding my 2000 Honda ST1100, and that's how I came to getting my FJR. I plan on staying with the FJR. there's got to be a better/ easier way to upgrade bikes.

Looking forward to meeting you and your new bike next June in Spearfish.

Glad you came out relatively OK

Damn Marcus,

Best wishes from the North! I hope you are not too hurt. Heal fast my friend. Maybe we will have to go shopping for new bikes together!

Gerald

Driver hauled away in cuffs yikes. I'd like to hear the rest of the story when you are healed and this is settled.

Glad you are posting this rather than someone posting about you.

STOP that. Glad your going to be ok .Take care of yourself and even if you have to take a cage we would love to see you for the Reuben run.

Good and bad news Marcus. The really good news of course is that you're sounding like your going to be back on track reletivly soon. Hope that's the case for sure......

The bad news is you have to deal with the whole experiencel. I know that bike represents a great deal of time with all work done to date as well as the great adventures you've enjoyed. Looking forward to hearing more good news soon.

Keep going!

Marcus, Dagnabit, sorry to hear this, but glad you're talking about about a new scoot already, it's great to hear that. Hope the injuries aren't going to leave a mark, but glad to hear you're still in the game.

So glad you're able to tell us about it Marcus. Bike can be replaced...hope the recovery is quick and relatively painless!

Let the PNW gang know what we can do to assist.

Yeah, me too. That really sucks, Marcus. That was a beautiful, well and highly farkled road rocket that you were justifiably proud of. Much mojo for your speedy recovery, with hopes that an even better FJR is in your near future.

Sorry for your misfortune, but I am glad you got a lucky bounce. Hope the injuries are minor, and you're back at it soon.

Looks like you were the proverbial Ping-Pong ball! Add my best wishes to the rest of them going your way from all the folks. If you close your eyes you can feel all the positive vibes from your friends. Having been down that road, in Wash state, to my knowledge, you have a 3year time window to reach a settlement with the insurance folks, if within that time frame you notify them of intent to sue there is no time frame. Property settlement came first for me, medical settlement was right at the 3 year mark, it may take a fair amount of time to become aware of all the physical effects, I would not rush this aspect. Being retired My schedule is relatively loose if I can be of any help.
