While clicking around on Google maps I noticed there is a new switch that says "Avoid Highways", which seems to mean "Avoid Interstates". It seems like a pretty neat feature for the cyclist looking for a country ride.

That got me to wondering; Do the GPS units have that option also?

(Another thing that someone might not know, you can use your mouse and drag your route on the map. So if you were mapping from Florida to Arizona, but wanted to stop in Montana, just drag the middle of your route to Montana and ta-da. lovely.)

Avoid interstates is an option in the units as well as mapsource for Garmin.

My MapSource City Navigator North America v8 has a slider bar with "Perfer Minor Roads" on one end and "Perfer Highways" on the other end. You can also set "Driving Speeds"
