Well i just got back from Tellico Plains Tenn Thu night. Plenty of rain but got at least 3 great days of riding. Our last day of riding we stopped at that lil store/gas station up the street from T.W.O. in Suches Ga. Checked on my front tire because i knew it was going bad but it was still looking good enough to get me back home. Then my riding partner goes DAMN! Don't you hate when you hear that. He's looking at threads coming out of my rear tire. Well hell that has to be taken care of like right now and its now 4:30 in the evening. These tires must have been the original tires, Metzlers with 7394 miles on the bike. That rear had a ton of tread on the edges so i wasn't paying it any attention just the front tire i was concerned with. We were told to head south about 10 miles to Dahlonega Ga. In an hour i had a Pilot Power front and PR2 rear, my riding partner talked me into the Pilot Power front vs the PR2 front. He said the way i ride this would be the better choice. Tires wee installed here:

The guy stopped what he was doing and took care of me. I figure hell they know they got me by the balls because i can't go anywhere on that rear tire but they were alright in my book. Total cost on the bike installed out the door $419. Almost worth waiting till your in the area and get your tires down there. Don't be like me and ride with tires that were spent. This bike is new to me just one month of ownership. Feels like an ENTIRELY different bike now......Keep these folks in mind if you need help in that area...

For 419 for a rear tire, I would have stopped what I was doing too :blinksmiley:

Derby cycles: Michelin Pilot Road Two Tire 180/55 ZR-17-Rear-87-9684 $ 164.99

Well at least they got you out fast (prolly cause they were afraid you would change your mind).

from what I read...that was $419 for two tires complete...taking wheels off bike, etc.

I've seen easily $310 paid for two Pr2's and some places $40 per with wheels off...so $390 with wheels off

I've seen $75 with wheels on per...so $460 total

I think you did OK on the deal considering everything...

And the previous 4 threads are exactly why OCFJR's Darkside thread is so interesting to so many. :assassin:
did you hear the Can Am Spyder went darkside front and rear...

way to go and thanks for reporting exceptional dealer service.

mostly all we hear from are the dissatisfied guys.

Yes that was my may intent for posting, to let folks know that if they are in the area and in need these folks aren't bad at all. I'll just verify in case i didn't make it to clear that price was for front and reat tires......

7400 miles on the original front-you don't need a Pilot Power! A PR would work fine, a PP will last you <4,000 miles. I had to put one on in AR a couple of years ago and the front was shot in 2500 miles. Right on Howie, I'm in OK now on the way to AR. 8,000+ miles on the rear CT and 70% left. Ian, Iowa

27,000 mile lifespan by your reckoning.

I bet you get 30K easy.

CONNED? Guess you need to read the original post again. My first concern was my front tire. After becoming aware of threads coming out of the rear tire why would i not do both at the same time since i was due a front anyway.... Am i missing something???
