I purchased a 2007 FJR in June 2014.
The bike had 32000 miles, and it had been neglected a little.
It ran rough, the throttle was tight and had the off/on jerkiness.
I used this forum to address these issues.
Oil change, valve clearance, carb sync, new spark plugs were done. The front shock had to be resealed.
Next, I did the throttle spring adjustment, this took the stiffness out of the throttle.
I installed the G2 Throttle Tamer, this removed the abrupt off/on jerkiness just off idle.
I installed the Power Commander V, this helped more, and it remove a lot of popping in deceleration.
I had the bike dyno tuned. WOW what a difference.
All this cost about $1000. It was worth it.
The throttle is now smooth and responsive, at every position.
The acceleration is buttery smooth, and the bike is an absolute joy to ride.
I have a Gold Wing 2004 for two-up. It is being neglected.
I think I will check out the clutch, and then it’s back to basic maintenance.
I am loving this bike.
Thank for the forum
