Great thread and I would also encourage as many as possible who are on the fence about this year's NAFO to get signed up! I would if I could, but even in semi-retirement my employer has some dibs on my time, and this NAFO just won't fit (space/time continuum problem - unable to be in two places at the same time).

NAFO in Golden was very special for Sylvia and me - we attended it in her van, as a bambi done took our 2004 FJR away 10 days before the rally.

The people are the draw - Scott of N-Line fame bravely loaned us his new GoldWing for a test ride in Golden. Nice bike, but we knew after that ride that we were buying another FJR when we got home...

Go for it peeps - you'll regret it if you miss it!

Let's see...

There was the trip to the NAFO - all 21.7 miles - pack light, if I forget something I can always go back and get it. Shortest trip to a rally I've ever been on.

Opportunity to see old friends from WFOs in the past. Been to most, starting with the first Moscow WFO.

Cherry bustin' SS1k, thanks to Rally ******* Jorge Z (Whore-hey). Excellent ride and the opportunity to break in brand new Kumho Ecsta 195/55/16 on the Goldwing (Yes, I'm a darksider Wingrider). AND I was the only non FJR rider in the Iron Butt ride - I appreciate how the FJR community welcomes all riders.

Riding Pikes Peak and the 11 mountian passes above 11,000 feet! on the way there. We spent three days to get there on the bike, it would take 7 hours in a cage from here in albuquerque.
