Welcome from SoCal and you will love your new to you 09. If the bike was well maintained you should have years of trouble free riding. Looks like your wheels were swapped out at some point as the 09's to the best of my knowledge came with black wheels. I like the silver wheels better.

Welcome from Canada's East coast. I had a 2007 and currently own a 2011 so the 2009 splits the difference.
Not too much to be concerned about for that year other than potential electrical grounding issues. Relatively easily fixed...

Different schemes in different markets but it is certainly a possibility.
