Around here, 6 more weeks of winter is "spring is just around the corner".

Yeah, they say "If the groundhog sees his shadow, it means another six weeks of winter." - like that was a bad thing. While my target for the first ride of the season is St. Patrick's day, there have been years when it was not possible to get the bike out before the end of the first week in April. Main streets clear for the most part (and salty), but subdivision still encrusted with icy road surfaces. The last couple of years have been pretty good...
After lots of rain to wash salt off the roads and a balmy 45 degrees here in southeast PA, I was back in the saddle yesterday (2/3/24) for the first time since our New Year’s Day ride!
