If it's of any help, I have these pictures that show the positions of most of them on my '06 AS.

The first four are under the tank

(Click any image for larger view)

The left of the two pictures below is under the left fairing, the other picture under the front fairing.

If you do need to take off the front fairing, try the "here" link in my post Fairing Replacement, My "How To"

(I posted these in this thread).

Thanks MCA for posting those pics!

I handled the ground wire issue this way and it's been holding so far:

> Brought it in for the factory recall

> Grounded w/14 ga wires @ the headlights & horns

> All farkles (and I have a "few") have their own dedicated ground bus going directly to the battery.

I think I will use your pics and maybe go back and add another ground from some of these just for peace of mind.

No problem.

All you really need to do is join all the wires together at each junction in a manner that won't corrode. If I did mine, I'd probably strip all the wires, tin each one separately to ensure a good joint, wrap a length of tinned copper wire round all the wires, then sweat solder the lot. A bit of shrink-wrap over the whole mess, and you are done. Mind you, access to some of them is not easy.

I know some have argued that the wires don't have the necessary current carrying capacity, I happen to think it is adequate. Any overheating has been because of corrosion at the connection, not too much current in the wires. If the wire capacity was inadequate, you'd get overheating within the loom, not at the connector where cooling is better. JMHO.

But if you would feel better running separate wires back to the battery, there's no argument.
