Well been cruising the GTR sites and hear the whining and complaints like heat, suspension, elbows in mirrors and 6th gear. By the 6th gear remark it is overdrive and you need to shift to pass on the highway according to some posters. Let the games begin and the saga continue. Not knocking the GTR just observing the conversations.

Haven't read anything about top speed yet. There is one guy on the Concours site that claims he will "top end" his bike shortly... Also, there are already two owners reporting problems with the key fob system and one owner already has been saddlebag bowling on the freeway. Different bike, same topics...I'll keep my '06 for awhile.

Can you please post links to the Ki-Pass problem reports and the dropped bag?

Also, there's also the guy on the avdriders board who lost his rear brakes on a 3000 mile ride and the one on COG whose ECU seems to have imploded.

Reading boards will give one the impression that almost all of whatever the board caters to have issues. Always remember that these are the vocal owners - after al, the majority of riders aren't out there with ride reports, gushing about how great their bikes are . . . many aren't even on the internet. So we tend to focus of the problems.

Just shows that ... unless you cannot go without being one of the early-adopters ... it's never a bad idea to wait out the year one glitches.

There are glitches on almost every bike in every year of the cycle. Sometimes the glitches continue, sometimes there are new glitches.

Your right sometimes there are glitches then sometimes there are surges.Have not experienced the surge yet but when I do I think I would like to ride the Kawa with a glitch and see which one I can tolerate more the glitch or the surge.

It's kinda nice. I might want one, but not the first model year.

The side bag, I don't care which one, must hold a large helmet. That would be a deal-breaker right there if it didn't--'cuz if I can't put a helmet in the sidebag, I would just get the ZZ14 thingey, but I don't want one of those, so I guess I would just get an FJR...

Which I already have.... And both sidebags will fit a large helmet....

The bags on the new connie are just a tad bit bigger than the FJR. I can fit my X11 into the FJR bags, but have to remove the chatterbox off the side of it. I can fit the same helmet, with chatterbox attached to the side into the GTR's bag.

I still wouldn't own one though....

Dealer here in the Dallas area was advertising a $9999.99 price last Friday for a non abs.IMHO that is not a good thing for a first year bike.Makes me think that they know something that I might not wanna know.
