I was on the GL1800 board yesterday and Fred got a C-14 to add to his stable. I'm sure there will be a comparo w/ the FJR forthcoming. Play nice children...

I love "Early Adopters". They've kept a lot of dollars in my pocket over the years....

Having said that, I hope he likes it and it is a great ride....

Well, I don't wanna start a war with the FJR guys, but the C14 handles WAY better in all aspects. Better sprung suspension, smoother power delivery, more predictable and confidence inspiring road manners all the way around. Less drive line lash is also present, and the clutch and throttle are worlds apart. The FJR feels high strung and twitchy where the C14 feels planted, and smooth. I don't have the high center of gravity (top heavy) feel on the C14 that I do on the FJR. I think moving some of the gas and battery down low in the bike really makes a big difference. In My Opinion, the FJR has too much weight up high. But my Givi top box probably doesn't help any in that area either.
The 06/07 FJR's had the throttle pulley changed to a progressive pitch pulley on the throttle bodies, that results in larger changes in throttle plate movements at low RPMs. This results in making it almost impossible to be smooth on it, and it is really jerky and snatchy with the throttle. The C14 is a joy to ride in comparison. The throttle applies the power in a very smooth and consistent manner and it makes a HUGE difference.
Why on earth would anyone want to keep such an inferior piece of **** when nirvana is just one step to the side?

It's all in love, man. Fred's back. That makes him "one of us" and subject for this kinda ribbin'.

Besides, he has THREE fine motorcycles in his stable. That, by default, makes him a *******.

It is just in fun, and as Scab said anyone who has 3 nice bikes like that should be expecting to get some SH!T.

i would have a personal problem with the overlap of intended functions. all 3 bikes have some serious intersections of domains. i would have probably traded off the wing for a cruiser and, if determined that the c14 was my preference, trade the fjr off for something like a Strom.
