Guinness Record: Most FJR's?

I think decide what day and do a survey, If you have enough that will be available go for it, if not do it at NFO.
If one does a survey.....one should actually do it down to the hour and make sure it fits with the schedule. A 6 p.m. Friday or Saturday *might* be optimal depending on how many SS/BBG riders are going and Beeroux's schedule.

Better to check the rules and make sure Stars will count. The other one sounded like Star only, not regular Yamaha's.
To get back on topic - my original post reads that the numbers apply to one model only and the record would be set for the MOST, ie: FJR'S IN A PARADE - not just parked in a group. ('scuse me for shouting but you boys are a handful.)
(Trying real hard not to 'rain on your parade') Yamaha has 28 different STAR models listed -- there are only 2 models of FJR. Not right, I know, but Cruisers are Big in America -- Sport-Tourers, not so much..... :(

Good Luck, tho, if you attempt it. ;)

None yet - the record is for 206 Yamaha TDM's.

I agree with the idea of putting this off until next year's National. Having attended the past three WFO's I know how hard it is to organize the mass photo shoot, for eg., what with everything that's going on.

Jeez, I dunno. Maybe we should attempt a picture at the next NorCal/SoCal lunch meet, just to stir the pot.

Great idea, Granny. I think you're right in thinking of next year so the "Organizing Committee" and attendees have time to plan for the photo opportunity. It could be a selling point for vendors and Yamaha USA.

As TWN has already stated, we'd need liability waivers and releases to allow Yamaha or vendors to use the photos if they want.

Sounds like you guys make every thing too much work. I have been on lots of parades and never signed a waiver. Who said it had to be organized? Just do it. (of course, set some riding guidelines to help prevent accidents) Make it like "around the block" five times, something easy. Start the camera's and then count the bikes. If you only get 50 riding, you can times it by five and have 250 ride by the camera. At least 50 would have fun doing it and who is going to know? There you go, make it fun. :yahoo:

Where is the Schedule of Events posted anyway? Where do I sign up for a SS or BB? Sounds like every thing is set but not set too. After all, a bunch (10-15?) of guys (gals) riding off for a day doesn't necessarily effect a parade ride. What about those that don't plan on doing a SS1K or BB thingy bobber, what great event is being planned for them? (Go sit in the pool and cool off?) If I only wanted to eat, I would take a cruise. :D

It's about .7 mile around the block. That is perfect for between 50 and 100 riders. Somewhere between 70 an 35 feet for each if stopped or riding. It would take around 2-5 minutes to travel around the block and if doing 5 laps, you could complete the whole event in less than an Hour. It took that long to set up the photo shoots at Moscow and Skagit.

Any way, I have been to three of these events and could spend hours standing around while organizers are busy. If 95% of the attendees are not organizers, then they are standing around too. Why all the negativism? Sounds like a good fun suggestion is being scuttled before there is even a schedule?

I liked the idea and would be happy to participate.

blu, there's another thread under the WFO heading where you can sign-up for the SS1k or BBG. Also under the WFO header, you'll find the link to the official WFO link where you can sign-up and get the hotel info, etc.

As for the parade? We'll have at least 150 bikes. Since this would emanate from an event known as WFO and by association, FJRForum.com, should someone fawl down - go boom, I don't want his lawyer coming for my house (neither would slappy), which is a distinct possibility in this day and age.

Much to my displeasure my oldest son is getting ready to marry a real ambulance chaser type. :angry2:

Why not just make a "Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement" for the whole event, itemizing the specific riding activities such as the SS, BB, Parade, Parking in secure areas, etc.?

I just was hoping for a Parade of FJR's. It would make a nice movie. Didn't have one at Moscow or Skagit nor even Reno, I get the picture. (Not someone's kind of fun?). :nono:

I will just go back in my closet and plan my trip. Lets see, do I want to ride the freeway and do it in one day or pick up some GT and Dams along the way and take two days? Maybe I will take a week and do some riding/siteseeing down south too. :)
