+1, what Ari said, but...
Being a former card carrying member of the NRA and having owned many a hunting gun and sport shooter, I have never felt a need to pack iron in the car or on the bikes (course, it would be handy to waste the errant Barbie Doll out in the Nevada wasteland, I suppose) and I've been in some really fun places, like Compton, East LA, South Central and Beverly Hills.

Why is it that you find it neccessary to carry? No bust or dig, just curious. :dntknw:
Self defense. LEOs are there to give out awards, but never there when they are really needed in a situation.

Geeze guys...what kind of places are you living in or driving thru, that u need to carry a piece?! Just a question thats all...if it were me, I`d move.
who said "need" is the reason. in the USA you can tote "just 'cause".

watching the worry warts go apoplectic is reason enough.

Have gun, will travel........I live in a .45 zone. The armpit of San Berdoo ! Fontana is just the "armpit", San Bernardino is the A-hole !

I always carry a .45 pistol with me on my bike and a flat tire repair kit / air pump, just in case.

Ya never know!!!! Once while travelling with wife and child, got off the interstate to reverse direction in Chester, PA. at 10PM. Wished I had my gun then!! Turned out I didn't need it, but now I never travel without my Glock 27. I'll take my chances with the law. (I just don't speed as much)

Bet I'll get some replies from you guys living in the Philly area.

The local sherriff tells me frequently; the police are there to enforce the laws of their juridiction. They are NOT there to protect you. You are responsible for you own safety.

Which is why if you shoot Osama as he comes through your front door, you will be arrested, handcuffed and taken to jail. It will be up to the prosecutor to decide your fate. The police are not there to make judgements, only to enforce the laws.
