Those are "dual sport" type guards. The name says it--"barkbusters." Crashing through the brush, you want something to protect your hands on the bars. They have a heavy bar around your hand--sturdy enough to even protect you if you go down, up to a point. They're narrower, don't give as much coverage for wind and rain as the Suzuki guards most folks use here.

I run a set of BarkBusters on my TransAlp, Pretty good product, A little $pendy for hand guards. I would stay with the V-Stroms on my FJR. :)

Thanks for the advice. Think in the end I will go with the tried and true Vstrom guards.
I have the VStorm installed on my 2005. I loved them in rain & cold weather, add protection too, one of the best farkles for me.

Easy to install, might loose a bit of the sport look, but you will keep them on, believe me
