Anyone have a handgun that they know will fit in a Gen 3 glove box? Preferably a 9mm, 40/45 cal semi-auto. Closest thing I've found is my daughter's Springfield Arms XDS 9mm.

That is asking a lot. Went out to my 2013 and my ruger lc9s is just a scoush to big, and do you plan on using the electrical plug in? Only thing comes to my mind in those calibers would be some sort of derringer. Why not keep it on your person?

Sometimes I go in places where you can't carry: bank, school, bar, government building etc.

I can live with not using the aux port while I store it in the glove box.

How about a good sling shot?

Better give the occifer fair warning when you pull out your registration and insurance.

SW M and P shield might fit. If I was at home instead of work, I could tell you.

First thing I would tell any LEO if officially contacted is that I have a firearm and ask him/her how I should proceed. All while keeping my hands visible and still.

I wouldn't dare leave a gun in that flimsy box. Dome douche is gonna break into your box looking for papers with your address and identity and get a bonus gun instead. Lock stuff in your saddlebags.
Yeah, kinda what I was thinking too. Maybe under the pillion seat? Not sure there's enough room there though...

Yep. No sense in leaving yourself open to legalities for failing to secure it when not in direct possession of it. Are you going to remove it from your concealed location and move it to the saddle bag? If you flash it during the process you could also leave yourself subject to either hassle or "man with a gun" calls. Best to carry it on your person and in your control. If knowing your going somewhere (local PD, court) where it's not allowed leave it at home or take the car... especially when going to bars.

I agree about not putting it in the glovebox. If u drove with it in there even for a short time, it could beat up that plastic pretty quickly also. I bet u could fit a compact or sub under the seat with a few modifications. Maybe rearrange the tool kit area.

A smuggler seat seems like it might be the ticket for this type of thing. My old CBR 900rr had a perfect compartment under the passenger seat. I could fit 2 VCR video tapes, my school books for the day, a couple of folders and likely a small pistol if needed. I never carried then, but no one would have ever thought of looking there.

Good luck with your solution.

I have a Beretta Tomcat .32 that will fit. KelTec makes a couple crappy guns that will also fit. Good luck fishing them out of there when you need them.

Remember this: It has been shown if a carried gun is not accessible within 5 seconds, it is useless. Making, under the seat, lost in the glove box, or behind you in a saddle bag, options that will make you a guy with a gun, way after he needed it.

A seecamp .32 might work, making them in .380 now, rare birds. Google seecamp pistols.

Not to mention that the Gen III requires the key to be turned on to even access the glovebox.

What he said...

Kahr PM9 might work though.
